How it works
- Americano rotates partners. In every round four players share a court, and each player is paired with someone new.
- The app builds the whole rotation before you start, so players know when they are on and who they are with. When the number of players is not a multiple of four, the extra players rest for a round and rotate back in.
- Each match is played to 32 points across both teams. A 20–12 win gives both winners 20 points and both losers 12.
- Points are individual, not per pair. Your total is the sum of every match you play, so each point counts even when you are losing.
- Add courts as you need them. Eight players on two courts play seven rounds in about 90 minutes.
- The table ranks players on points per match, so a player who rested is not penalised. Point difference separates players who are level.
Frequently asked questions
How many players do you need for an Americano?
Four is the minimum and 24 is the maximum. It works best with eight to 16 players on two to four courts.
How many points per match?
The standard is 32 points per match shared between the two teams. You can play to 24 for faster rounds or 40 for longer ones.
What if we have an odd number?
The players who do not fit on a court rest for a round and rotate back in. The app spreads the rests evenly.
How long does it take?
Plan on 10 to 15 minutes a round. An eight-player game on two courts takes about 90 minutes.
Do players need an account?
No. Create the game, share the link, and players open it to see their court and the live scores. Only you, and anyone you send the scoring link to, can enter scores.
Can I show the scores on a TV?
Yes. Open TV mode from the play page for a large live board that hides the normal navigation.
